Everyone has different goals for themselves. Whether its gaining or losing weight or running a 5k without stopping, being healthy or starting to eat better etc. Although everyone has these types goals only a few will actually achieve them because of there willpower and mindset. I am here to tell you, you can achieve these goals, but you must have the DESIRE and WILLPOWER to do so mentally. Start figuring out where you want to be in life and start getting motivated because what you do today determines what you will have tomorrow. I’ve always told myself that because it is so true that people are not willing to do what they want even though they know if they just put in dedication and desire they can achieve their goals. On the other hand, I am going to start getting deeper and deeper into fitness and health as my blogs go on, but I thought I would share that before I begin.
Tip#1 Weight loss is 75% in the kitchen and 25% in the gym
First off, you may here this a lot, but it is 100% proven fact and in order to achieve those goals you want for yourself you must start eating better and healthier. You must start by shifting your mindset into not only because you want to lose weight, but perhaps you will live longer, happier and better life if you start getting healthier. Healthy has a lot of different meanings when it comes to eating healthy. Generally, healthy eating is raw, whole, organic food that comes from the ground or from an animal. NOT cookies, crackers, or any processed foods. If it is processed you should not eat it. Also, cut out fast food because it will save you money and weight gain. I believe fast food is for people who are too lazy or “in a hurry” to make food at home. Even though fast food taste good it is not good for you at all. Bottom line is start making healthier meal choices in order to reach any fitness goal.
Tip #2 Cut out Wheat/Gluten!!
I could go on, and on about how bad wheat and gluten is for you which I will post a whole blog about it later, but basically if you cut out wheat and gluten you will see rapid changes in your body and overall health. Modern wheat is so bad for you and your body. Even if it is organic or non-GMO it is still not the wheat that was produced 100 years ago because it has been so genetically modified and changed it is better to stay away from it completely. I gave up wheat 2 weeks ago and in the first 5 days I lost 4 pounds because of wheat!! I had given up all other processed and fast foods but once I gave up wheat I saw a huge difference. So I challenge you to cut it out completely, throw it away, and never look back you wont regret it!
Tip #3 Drink Green Tea and Lay-off the Coffee!
I am going to be honest with y’all… I love coffee. I love Starbucks drinks and everything about coffee even the smell. Although a few months ago I gave up coffee to see how it would effect me because I was eating right and exercising and no results and once I took out the coffee I started to feel better and do more throughout my day once I switched to green tea. Green tea is so good for you, not only does it speed up your metabolism, but you can burn up to 100 more calories a day just by drinking green tea! I am not telling you to give up coffee because I did it, I am simply suggesting maybe you should incoporate green tea in your daily life as well as coffee. Coffee is too good to give up so I suggest you use almond or coconut milk as creamer and honey or stevia to sweeten it. It is not necessarily bad for you if you do not put a lot of cream and sugar, but definitely cut back on sugar if you want to achieve your fitness goals!
Tip#4 Eat Protein and Fiber!
I cannot stress this enough how important it is to eat protein and fiber. Protein is so important for your body, it is what keeps you full longer and how you recover from workouts. You should be consuming around 50 grams daily Or have of your body weight. So if you weigh 125 you should be consuming at least 63 grams of protein. Also eat your fiber! Fiber is so good for you, you should be consuming around 25-30 grams of fiber daily. Fiber is what promotes your overall digestion to get food out of your system! Start adding protein and fiber to your meal plan, you will see tremendous changes
Tip #5 Workout in the Morning!
This is a hard one for most people because individuals often use the excuse “I am not a morning person” well I am here to tell you neither was I and you can change this habit today. Start going to bed earlier and waking up earlier. Turn-off electronics 30 minutes before you go to bed and read a book or listen to an audiobook it will help your overall sleep tremendously. Working out in the morning is so beneficial because it can help you burn more calories throughout the day and it gets your blood flowing and can help promote productivity throughout the day. Although it may be hard because you are tired in the morning you CAN do it! Drink your coffee or green tea and eat a healthy light breakfast before going to the gym or even a morning walk! You must eat before you workout though because if you do not your fat is just stored and it has no way of burning anything so eat something before your workout! Also build up your workouts, if it is hard in the beginning start from 10 minute walks to 20 minute walks and then to 30 minute walks and then to 10-15 jog/walk. Remember if you put your mind to it you can accomplish ANYTHING.
I hope this helps 🙂
